Margot Fagan

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, lives in Toronto, studied at The Ontario College of Art (AOCA 1983). Margot began her career as a designer with Dominion Textiles and moved on to her own studio work producing silk screened fabrics, quilts and textiles for public commissions, gallery and museum exhibitions and private residences. Public art commissions in Toronto include; The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Ontario Crafts Council, and CAMH: Centre for Addiction & Mental Health. She has received recognition through awards and grants, and her work has been exhibited across Canada, in the U.K., Japan, New Zealand, Germany, the U.S. and Italy. Margot’s work is held in the permanent collection of The Canadian Museum of Civilization, Gatineau, Quebec and The Ontario Craft Council, (Craft Ontario) Toronto. Her Artists’ Books are held in the collections at UCLA Arts Library, Los Angeles, CA; Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah GA; University of Michigan Hatcher Library, Ann Arbor, MI; Reed College Library, Portland, OR; and Leslie University Library, Cambridge, MA.
